Let’s discuss how you can improve your next job-search experience.

Here are three tips to help you improve your next job search when working with a recruiting firm:

  • Communication. When we receive a resume from someone who is a potential match for the position, we need to be in communication for every step of the hiring process. That includes responding in a timely manner. It’s confusing when a candidate seems excited about the opportunity, but then takes a day or more to respond.
  • Sincerity. Are you sincere about this job opportunity? Sincerity goes a long way and is important at every step of the process, especially the interview. Testing the waters is fine, but once you begin the process of applying for a position, be sincere.
  • Patience. Many of our clients are multinational companies that require multiple interviews to get through the entire process. That takes time, so be patient. Also, October is a great time to sharpen your job-search skills; we usually see a spike in hiring between October and Thanksgiving. That said, January and February are the peak times to search for a new job, so if you’re hoping to land the position by/before then, you should start your search right now.
